A work in progress…my husband and I spent the first part of our honeymoon last year in Burma. It’s somewhere I have always wanted to visit as its where my parents were born.
I was completely captivated by the country and took endless photos to hopefully work from once I got back home. I never made any sketches whilst out there, so I’m in a tricky position working from just the photos alone; trying to replicate the scene versus how I saw it with my eyes and what I felt. That’s the beauty of painting however; using colour, brush strokes, opacity and many other tools, to create not only what you see, but what you feel, which makes it truly original.
